Bell Peppers are part of the Capsicum family, is a relative of the tomato and ideally requires warm weather to grow.
Sow seedlings under glass at 15 Celsius degrees. Sow 2 seeds in a peat pot filled with compost - remove weaker seedling. Once hardened off, plant outdoors about 45 cms apart in a well-drained fertile soil in a sunny, sheltered location.
Pick the fruits when they are green, swollen and glossy. A green pepper will turn red in about 3 weeks under glass.
